About Me

A software developer with over twenty years of software development experience as well as having experience in object oriented design, prototyping, proof of concept, and implementation.
In early 2014 I joined the Apple Software Development program where it is my desire to build rich applications for Apple’s iOS Frameworks targeted to iPhone, iPad, and OSX application development.
Outside of of my software development career, I have over 32 years of working as a goldsmith and bench jeweler. I hold certificates from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in diamonds, diamond grading, and jewelry repair and design.

I have been working steady on learning as much of SWIFT and iOS Programming. This week has been on CAEmitterLayers. I have made a couple changes to my weather app to display falling snow as well as rain. So far it looks good and I am learning a lot!

Congratulations! Your work on integrated approach to the EPRI Mobile Field Guide App has been nominated for the 2017 Chauncey Awards, the most prestigious awards given at EPRI. The Chauncey Awards, named in honor of EPRI's founder Dr. Chauncey Starr, are given for outstanding and innovative achievements in science, technology, and business processes. In addition to the technical awards, the Chauncey Awards include the EPRI Community Service Award and EPRI Operational Excellence Award. Nominations can be made by any member of the EPRI staff, for individual as well as team achievements and your work was chosen to be considered this year. The nominations are reviewed by the Chauncey Award panel, which includes representatives from across the institute, and winners will be honored at an awards banquet in Charlotte on September 25. I am the panelist who will have the honor of interviewing you on the work you completed and will share this input, in addition to the original nomination input, with the Chauncey panel.

Tempus, derived from the latin word for weather as well as latin for time, so I guess now is the time for another weather app! Tempus is a simple and minimal weather app that isn't full of unnecessary features. Tempus was built to be easy to read and easy to use.
Features include: - Current local weather - Celsius and Fahrenheit - Min & Max Temp throughout the day - Humidity, Wind Speed, and Direction - 5 Day forecast for your area All of the photos are property of me and were taken with my iPhone while riding my bicycle around the Berkshires.

The object here was to create a simple iPhone app that I could get onto the AppStore. I didn't want to make it complicated just simple enough so I could learn what it takes to get an app from concept to implementation to delivery. I learned a lot from this and I will be making updates by adding more features to the app.

The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) conducts research on issues related to the electric power industry in USA. EPRI is a nonprofit organization funded by the electric utility industry. EPRI is primarily a US based organization, but receives international participation. EPRI's area covers different aspects of electric power generation, delivery and its use. I am a software developer engineer working in the Power Delivery and Utilization sector of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). My current duties include software design and engineering.
